Despite what the poster may say, opening this cheerful Saturday night was a bartender and a punter eating things that would be deemed disgusting as a bush-tucker trial, to some mixed reactions. Regardless, it makes the audience all the more delighted to see the music start and the maggots go away. Ben Vickers' replacement then? Emma Ross.

Dressed for the occasion, Halloween make-up all around, she sets a mellow, relaxed mood with her simple chords and surprisingly near perfect vocals. She was out to impress, and she does just that.

As does Tina V, with a set consisting of diverse covers that range from Lana Del Ray to The Pretty Reckless, including a cover of a track by her other music project, local rockers This Wicked Tongue. They both keep the crowd entertained, but are overshadowed by main support support Case Closed.

They are different to the first two, very different. Their lively, upbeat acoustic hip-hop gets the first real dance of the night as people start not realising how much they've had to drink. The mood changes, the flashing lighting rig seems all the more appropriate to this style of music and they fill the shoes of main support with absolutely superb style.

It;s hard to think how anyone can beat that in a small back room of a pub. Challenge accepted. Headliners Done By Sunrise blast their way through songs that span from their foundation up until new tracks written about Geordie Shore. They are out to impress, they are funny but take it very seriously. The addition of a drummer makes this performance by far the best of the three times I've seen them. Ending with their notorious four chord song spanning over 30 songs, Worcester's best upcoming pride are better than ever, and they're here to stay.
